It is possible to successfully treat your heartburn using a home remedy?
Symptoms can range from minor to excessive discomfort as your stomach acid is affecting your esophagus. This occurs when the sphincter that separates the stomach from the esophagus cannot stay shut and the esophagus does not have the same protective lining that the stomach has so it can be quite painful.
The most common name for heartburn is acid reflux though it is also known as bloating, indigestion, borborygmus and dyspepsia.

Cigarettes can also slow down your digestion and when smoking you can swallow small bubbles of air that increase the pressure in your stomach. So another good reason to quit smoking.
You can also avoid heartburn by monitoring which foods which can trigger it and some of these include beans, cabbage, onions, cucumbers, citrus fruit and chocolate to name but a few. Foods that are acidic, oily, very spicy or produce gas will all aggravate your stomach and enhance the problem.
To get your body digesting at its maximum capacity, you can take a walk right after eating as this gets your metabolism going. It does not need to be a vigorous power walk. A leisurely walk at a normal pace can do wonders for digestion. However, brisk or strenuous exercising after a large meal will increase your chances of having heartburn, so take it easy with the movements.
If you need to take medications for your acid reflux then keep in mind that remedies that absorb excess stomach acids are more effective. The liquid form of remedies will often be more effective than tablets or pills. The way that most medications and home remedies work is by absorbing the extra acid in your stomach so it cannot be released into the esophagus.
In this regard, fiber is quite effective in reducing acid levels as well as removal of built-up toxins in your digestive system. Drink adequate amounts of water and maybe even some peppermint tea after a meal.
Another longstanding remedy is ginger which has a calming effect on the stomach.
