Sanju Samson has been dismissed twice by Adam Zampa and it will be interesting to see if he picks up his wicket in today’s encounter. Samson has a strike rate of 130 against spin and 150 against pacers and he will surely try to score runs against Pune tonight.
Amit Mishra has been in bad form this season. He has bowled at an economy rate of 8.57 which makes it the second season where Amit Mishra has bowled at an expensive rate. In 2014, he had bowled at an economy rate of 8.92. It will be interesting to see how well he does tonight.
Delhi is currently sixth on the points table and if they win tonight they’ll move to 12 points. Pune needs to win one match out of two to ease some pressure. If Delhi beats them today, they will have to win the last match and that will be stressful for them.
Rising Pune Supergiant
Pune will play today’s encounter without their South-African spinner, Imran Tahir. They will also miss Faf du Plessis as they have left for their national duties. Imran Tahir was the second leading wicket-taker this season, it was important for Rising Pune Supergiant to have him on their side until the end of the season as he would bowl 4 crucial overs and trouble the opposition.
After David Warner, Rahul Tripathi is the second highest run scorer in power-play this year. He is just 12 runs short of becoming the highest run scorer in power-plays. He has been striking runs at 170.27 in power-play. Tripathi can make a lot of difference and get the crucial runs on the board.
Adam Zampa will be back in playing XI, as a replacement for Imran Tahir. Zampa has played only two matches and has picked up 2 wickets and conceded 71 runs. It will be a good chance for him to get himself a fixed spot in the team for the playoffs.
