Rising Pune Supergiant
Pune lost their previous match against Delhi by 7 runs which have put them in a must-win situation to qualify for playoffs. Manoj Tiwary scored a good knock, 60 of 45 balls, but this wasn’t enough to get them a win.
Their batting line up is good but they need to push themselves if they want to get into playoffs. Ajinkya Rahane has been out of form and has failed to score runs with his bat as well the youngster Rahul Tripathi needs to boost up and get some runs on the board.
Shardul Thakur and Ben Stokes were pretty expensive in the last match against Delhi. Thakur was hit for 35 runs off his 3 overs and stokes was hit for 31 runs in 4 overs.
Pune will have to play well with the bat as well as the ball if they want to go to the playoffs.
King’s XI Punjab
King’s XI Punjab has to win against Rising Pune Supergiant and give themselves a chance to qualify for playoffs. Punjab played a great match in Mumbai and defeated them by 7 runs. They bowled and batted well too. They will have to continue to the same form and get a much-needed win.
Martin Guptill played a knock of 36 runs and took a fabulous catch which turned the game in Pubjab’s favour. The skipper batted well and scored a knock of 47 runs in 21 balls and picked up the crucial wicket of Lendl Simmons.
Punjab will have to bowl better and the Sharma duo will have to stop runs as well pick up wickets for Punjab. The pace and spin attack will play a crucial role in troubling the opposition.
