“Prostitution is hard, if not impossible, to eradicate. Everywhere men (and women) seek sexual gratification and are willing to pay for it. Accordingly, every society has to compromise, to find a way to contain this “necessary evil.”

On Christmas Day, December 25th, 1970 prostitution became legal in Nevada . Because a brothel owner had been paying $1000 a month to keep his prostitution business operating, the state passed a piece of legislation to explain where the money was coming from. Thus, brothel licensing was born.

Although prostitution is now legal in Nevada , it is still not widely accepted. Legalization becomes regulation, sometimes strict regulation. For example, the second act of legislators was to outlaw any brothel existing where there was a population of 200,000 or more people.

Brothels are the only place where sex can be bought and sold. Prostitution is only legal in Nevada , though the “street walking” form of prostitution is still illegal. For a relatively big state (area wise) such as Nevada , Reno , Las Vegas , Carson City or Lake Tahoe is off limits for brothels. The desert, far away from the rest of civilization, is the only place prostitution and brothels are allowed to exist. Even then, they are not allowed to advertise.

On top of legislative laws and public scrutiny, brothels have their own rules inside the house. Only a few brothels permit a couple to hire a prostitute, then the cost is nearly double, even if the wife only watches. Also, in some brothels, it is illegal for a woman to enter a brothel and solicit sex from another prostitute. Pretty strict rules for places that average $150 – $500 a visit!

Well Known Houses of Prostitution… (Brothels)

The Mustang Ranch- is the largest brothel in the United States . They employ between 30-50 prostitutes working at any time and also have a wide variety of services to offer.

The Cherry Patch II- Is well respected and they are known for having many women under 25 working at any given time. Other amenities include a full restaurant and they are also known for their plush rooms. An interesting side note: they have an actual museum of prostitution!

The Moonlight Bunny Ranch- The Bunny Ranch has been in business since 1956. Hours of operation include 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Bunny Ranch is also most known for catering to unusual sexual fantasies and kinks.

Stardust Ranch- Offers overnight company and is one of the few (if not the only one to do so.)

Old Bridge Ranch- Features 25 rooms, including an “orgy room” for the wealthy. A collection of 100’s of pornography videos and they outcall services for those who can’t make the drive in.

So, if you’re planning a trip to the Nevada strip, those are a few places you may want to check out. In the wise words of Steve Martian, Comedian: “I believe that sex is the most beautiful, natural, and wholesome thing that money can buy.”

As the old adage goes: “It’s been our business doing pleasure with you!”
