Beauty expert Zareen Bala gives us a couple of tips to protect our hair and skin during the chill. During winters, we do protect our bodies from the cold but often neglect protecting the hair and skin which dries out very often. Follow these tips and you are guaranteed to look flawless this season.


1. Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise

Use a moisturiser in the day and night, look for moisturizer with hydrating ingredients like shea butter / vitamin e.


2. Consume Omega-3

Add omega 3 to your diet in the winter months , vitamins A/D/E also also play a vital role for healthy skin.


3. Drink Water

Keeping yourself hydrated is very important. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.


4. Don’t Use Drying Soaps

In winter skin becomes more dry, use body washes instead of a soap as a soap sucks out the moisture from the body.


5. Use Rich Creams

if you use a light weight cream/gel try switching to a more dense cream for the winter months. 


6. Use Moisturizing Shaving Creams

They help avoid cuts as well as moisturise the skin.


7. Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise

Cleanse your skin, for most men, skin tends to get oily throughout the day. Use a face wash followed by a toner to remove impurities from your skin.

This is another important tip for the winter season as it keeps our scalp moisturised and prevents dandruff which occurs due to dryness (which happens more in winters than summer). It also makes your hair roots stronger preventing hair-fall.

This is is important too as heating appliances like heaters/radiators cause dryness as well.

Exfoliating once a week to remove dead cells/dirt and oil production, it also preps the skin for a closer shave.

The skin surrounding our eyes is sensitive and thin. Eye creams / serums hydrate as well as reduce puffiness.

SPF is essential since the skin on the lips is thin and susceptible to damage.
