Ward number 220 saw three consecutive ties between Shiv Sena candidate Surendra Bagalkar and BJP’s Atul Shah. It was then decided the winner be declared by lucky draw. Four-year-old Yashika Salunkhe, who was playing nearby, was handpicked by election officials to choose the winning candidate by picking one out of two chits. Read the whole story here.
Stress Helplines For SSC and HSC Students
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education announced 10 helpline services for SSC and HSC students to help them deal with stress with board examinations starting on February 28, t. The helplines will be active from Tuesday till April 1. Numbers for Mumbai are (022-27881075, 022-27893756) and will be active from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Reliance Jio To Come up With Cab Service, Compete With Ola and Uber

Freedom 251 Smartphone Owner Held for Fraud
Mohit Goel, the director of the company, was arrested by policemen after Ayam Enterprises—the distributors of Freedom 251— filed an FIR alleging that Ringing Bells cheated them of Rs 16 lakh. The cops are now on the hunt for four more directors. Read the whole story here.

Hyderabad Engineer Shot and Killed in Kansas City
Srinivas Kuchibhotla (32), an engineer from Hyderabad, was shot and killed in Kansas City bar by Adam Purinton (51), who yelled “Get out of my country,” before he shot Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani (32). Kuchibhotla died, Madasani is recovering. Another patron Ian Grillot, a white man, jumped Purinton to save the Indians and was also shot. He is also recovering. Travel network Stayzilla shut down today after founder Yogendra Vasupal admitted that the company has failed. The Only Indian Goalkeeper to Stop Pele Died Last Week and None Of Us Cares
Shibaji Banerjee, who played for Mohun Bagan in the 1970s and 80s died on February 19, 2017 after a heart attack in Kolkata. He was 68. Banerjee is best known for stopping Pele from scoring when the New York Cosmos (that Pele used to play for) played against Bagan in 1977. Read about him here and watch the video from the match below.
India Crumble Against Australia in First Test Match
India had a horrid time in the field today as they lost seven wickets for 11 runs and allowed Australia to amass a lead of 298 runs on day two of the first Test match in Pune. Spinner Steve O’Keefe took six wickets in the innings. Australian captain Steve Smith was unbeaten on a half-century, it didn’t help that India dropped him three times. Read the whole report here.
