Flowers are nice; fried chicken is better. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) believes that a bouquet of fried chicken is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for a foodie couple.
They are giving away 20 of these special bouquets, each of them containing a mix of popcorn chicken, crispy strips, and original recipe drumsticks. KFC even claims that the bouquet is the best-smelling bouquet out there — that is, if your idea of a ‘nice smell’ is deep-fried chicken. To each his own, we say.
Winners (there is an online contest) will have to pick up their bouquet from a restaurant on Quay Street, Auckland on February 14. No hand-delivered bouquets here, because nobody likes soggy fried chicken. The lucky winners don’t have to spend on a nice candlelit dinner; they can just take their significant other out on a cheap (basically free) date. No idea how this will turn out, but in these days of demonetisation and inflation, one must be judicious with expenses.
Unfortunately, this contest only applies to residents of New Zealand. But this doesn’t mean you can’t make you can’t string together your own bouquet. You can create your own with a couple of fried chicken pieces. If you don’t like fried chicken, create a mixed kebab bouquet. Who can say no to kebabs?
Vegetarians need not be left out, they can have pakodas and veggie strips. Just make sure your significant other is really, really fond of deep-fried food and has a really good sense of humour! Or else it will be your last date.
