Every year has trends fashonistas follow to the fullest. 2015 had contouring, flushed cheeks and graphic eyeliners which we loved. But with a new year comes new trends. We took a look at the Spring Fashion Week 2016 as a definite guide to the trends worth trying out in 2016.
1. Flamboyant Lippies
Gone are the days of nudes, mauves and soft plums. Several Spring 2016 Fashion shows of Jason Wu, DKNY, Marchesa, Anna Sui, Oscar De la Renta, Victoria Beckham showcased loud mouths with vibrant shades of crimson, orange and oxblood. The power lip will certainly make a comeback next year bolder shades such as wine, plum, burgundy and taupe.
2. Classy Hair Bands
One might associate hairbands with the kiddie lot, but lately embellished hairbands, floral barrettes have been making quiet a buzz. Wearable for women across ages, this classy element is a definite must have in your vanity. Beaded rhinestone and sequin head bands can instantly take a mundane bun to a glamorous up-do.
3. The Strobe Effect
The runway dewy skin is a must try for every woman. The Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2016 show in Milan showcased the sultry combination of the ‘no make-up look’ paired with fresh luminous skin. This fresh and effortless look can be easily achieved with a dab of Vaseline over the cheekbones, lids, and the cupid bow.
4. Full Brows
Relatively straight and fuller brows are definitely here to stay. Without any added effort they make a statement, resulting in a more youthful look and are very easy to maintain. We hope 2016 sees a lot more eyebrows on fleek!
5. Washed Out Bronzed Look
The bronzed look over the eyes was one of the go-to looks at the runway. To achieve the simplistic yet classic look, all one needs to do is to sweep a layer of bronzer with a fluffy blending brush over the lids and blend it well. This monochromatic looks will bring out the colour of your eyes when paired with a thick coat of mascara.
