5 Ways To Make Hot Chocolate At Home

Before the winters run away, which we all know happens pretty soon in Mumbai, you may want to take the joy of making something at home instead of going out & spending an outrageous amount at a place like Starbucks (I target Starbucks a lot) on something like hot chocolate. And with V-Day just around the bend, it helps if you have something hot to cuddle up with.

So I present you the 5 methods which guarantee you a toothsome result.

1. Basic Hot Chocolate

Let’s start with the most basic way of making this ages old drink.
Ingredients: Milk, cocoa powder or chocolate powder & honey.
Method: Boil the milk and add cocoa powder. Those of you with an extra sweet tooth can add some sugar as well. Simple and effective.

2. Nutella Hot Chocolate

So, my co-worker told me this cool way to make the said drink with the most loved (affordable) chocolate ingredient! Yes you guessed it right. It’s NUTELLA! #ilovenutella
Ingredients: A BIGGG, heaped spoon of nutella, hot milk, whipped cream / marshmallows (my suggestion).
Method: Take the hot milk in a mug & the huge spoon of nutella and stir it till your hand aches (best results come with a little hard work). Top it off with some whipped cream or mini marshmallows (or both if you aren’t the types to worry about your waistline).

3. Dairy Milk Hot Chocolate

Ok. Time to take out the big guns. Most popular chocolate that every kid in India knows? Yup, DAIRY MILK.
Fun fact: Until the 19th century, hot chocolate was even used medicinally to treat ailments such as liver and stomach diseases. You can now enjoy this drink without feeling guilty. You’re welcome!
Ingredients: A slab of dairy milk (depending on how badly you want diabetes) & milk.
Method: Melt the slab & then pour the liquidy solution in a glass of milk. Top it off with some chocolate shavings and you are good to go.

4. Valentine’s Hot Chocolate

This one is for the couples out there. Take advantage of the winters guys! Make hot chocolate at home so your significant other thinks that you’re actually making an effort. Whip it up with this recipe especially for love birds & get ready to cuddle & more 😉
Ingredients: Hershey’s syrup (everyone loves this) & milk.
Method: Make it extra chocolaty by not only layering it with the syrup on top but also the inner surface of the glass! & well obviously you can do a lot more with the syrup *wink wink*.

5. Mexican Hot Chocolate

This one is a little different from the recipes above. Mexican-style hot chocolate with cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla extract is a tasty, quick, and comforting drink. So come on, don’t hesitate to experiment around.
Method: Heat the milk on the stove. Add some cocoa powder along with a cinnamon stick, two cloves and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Once the milk comes to a boil, take it off the heat, and pour it into your favourite cup through a sieve. Yum yum!!
