The 63rd National Film Awards’ list of winners are out. Telugu magnum opus Baahubali won the prestigious Best Film award whereas Kangana Ranaut picked up the Best Actress award for Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Industry stalwart Amitabh Bachchan bagged the Best Actor award for Piku.
Baahubali, is the highest grossing film in India, and became the third highest grossing Indian film globally with a revenue of Rs 600 crore(US$89 million) worldwide.
This is Kangana’s 3rd National Film Award. She had earlier won for roles her role in Fashion and Queen. Amitabh Bachchan received a fourth National Award. He had previously won awards for Agneepath, Paa and Black.
In a award ceremony dominated by Bollywood films, Sanjay Leela Bhansali won Best Director for period drama, Bajirao Mastani.
