Cheaper Alternatives For Your Favourite Lip Colours

We all love a good pout, and some go to extreme lengths to get them, not necessarily pocket friendly. Here is how you can get a more affordable version of your favourite (more expensive) lip colours.

1. MAC’s Rebel V/s Wet n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy

This is a great fall shade, but can be worn with any colour combination too. Looks best on fair complexion and gives a satin finish. The MAC one has a more creamy formula while the wet n wild one has a more matte finish. But for the price, the wet n wild one is a better buy.

2. Clinique Chubby Stick in Mega Melon V/S Rimmel Colour Rush Stain in Not An Illusion

These two shades are very similar, in colour and in texture. It’s not a lipstick but more like a lip stain for the days you don’t feel like slapping on too much makeup. It goes on smoothly after applying a lip balm at first. The difference between the prices is almost 10 pounds (1000rs)

3. Gerard Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Shimmer Of Hope V/S NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie

It’s more of a pinkish nude shade, and can be worn over pink lip liner or lipsticks, even nude ones to a certain extent. The NYX Butter gloss is in fact a little more preferable over the Gerard cosmetics one because of its formula and affordable rate. The NYX one is a little more matte than the high end one.

4. YSL Lipstick in Beige V/S E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink

It’s a blend between brown, pink and nude, and it’s a good one. The YSL one is extremely popular and all beauty gurus have reviewed it on their channel. If you don’t want to spend $34 (2000rs plus) on a tube of lipstick then the next best thing is the ELF mineral Lipstick in Runaway Pink, it’s pretty much the same shade but a little less pigmented, but still great for the price which is 2000rs less.

5. MAC Cherry Lip Liner V/S Revlon Red 675

Who doesn’t love classic red lips? But no one likes bleeding lipstick hence a lip liner for dark lipsticks is a must. The Revlon Red is a little creamier than the MAC one. The shade is nearly identical though.

6. Stila Lip Glaze Apricot V/S Elf Hypershine Gloss Flirt

The ELF one is a little more pinkish while the Stila one is more on the peachy side but other than that they apply the same. The look is also identical once you blend it in. You can wear this just as it is or on a nude or peach lipstick. It’s great for summers.

7. Kat Von D Liquid Lip Stain Lolita V/S NYX Soft Matte Creme Cannes

They both give a dry matte finish after a good 6 minutes, and have great pigmentation. This shade is very cranberry pink but with a brown undertone to it. It goes with almost any look and if you want a little shine to it, apply a gloss later. It also stays throughout the whole day.

Go on and purchase some great lip products without feeling that guilty, as dupes work just as well as their high end partners. Let me know if you have any more dupes in mind in the comments section below.
