ITI Students Have to Prove They Wrote Their Exams

About 200 students of the electrician branch of four Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) have been waiting for their second semester results for over four months. Now they have to prove they wrote those exams because authorities allegedly can’t find their papers. They are trying to seek permission for taking the third semester exam from February 20.

Today’s National news should be called Supreme Court news. India’s highest court has been quite busy.

SC Cancels Degrees of 634 Doctors Because of Vyapam Scam


The Supreme Court cancelled the licenses of 634 doctors who had got admission into MBBS courses in Madhya Pradesh between 2008 and 2012. All the alleged ‘doctors’ pleaded that they would refund the financial gains that they got because of degrees and would do social service.

The SC said, “If we desire to build a nation on the touchstone of ethics and character, and if our determined goal is to build a nation where only rule of law prevails, then we cannot accept the claim of the appellants (students) for suggested societal gains (by allowing them to keep the degrees on the condition of doing social service free of cost for some years).”

SC Convicts Sasikala in Disproportionate Assets Case

Sasikala Natarajan can say bye to her dreams of becoming the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu thanks to the Supreme Court. The SC found her guilty in the disproportionate assets case. She will be taken into custody for four years. You can check out the case timeline here.

The India Aspiration Fund (IAF) was supposed to kickstart the start-up movement in India. The government was all gung ho about it last year. This year starts with a downer as the government has made no provisions for IAF for 2017-18. To make matters worse, the budget for the current fiscal year has been reduced to Rs. 100 crore from Rs. 600 crore.
