A lot of Indians are choosing to travel abroad for elaborate destination weddings. They even fly out to exotic locations to celebrate anniversaries and honeymoons oblivious to the wonders that lie in their nation. Ling and Zhang, a Chinese couple decided to visit India for the first time and soak in the wonderful heritage and culture for their tenth anniversary photo shoot and got in touch with Delhi-based wedding photographers and film-makers, Our Wedding Chapter. The trickiest part? The couple didn’t know English and the photographers did not understand Chinese. What could have been a communication disaster turned into a beautiful photo series.
It was a four-day shoot covering Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur
The concept was to capture them having fun with culturally-rich spots in the background.
The photographers had to literally pose with each other to explain how they wanted the couple to look!
The coupled danced to an Indian band at a Jodhpur fort in a Christian wedding gown, they did a ‘Kaaameeehaaameeeehaaa’ ( a phrase from Dragon Ball Z) on top of a fort in Jaipur and rode in a shared auto with the photography team. “We have always believed that love seeks no religion, language or myths and we were lucky enough to witness our ideology proven right during the shoot,” said Our Wedding Chapter to Bayside Journal.
